The location was to die for, a spit from the bus station (don’t get a tuktuk/taxi) literally 7 mins walk, unless u have loads of bags! Bume welcomed us despite us being 2 hours early and the room was just WOW! Right on the Mekong, we had the top floor river view and so not only could we see Laos from our bed but we witnessed the BEST sunset & sunrise so far on our 2 months of travel. Breakfast was stunning, again the best we’ve had since we have been away and Mint was absolutely delightful (good luck with your new arrival) A really nice pool (we didn’t use it as I have an injury so couldn’t get wet. The free use of the bicycles was a lovely extra, we rode through town to the supermarket for supplies and then took a leisurely ride along the cycle path outside the hotel and along the Mekong. The rooms was beautiful and the location meant we could leave the curtains open and wake up to the Mekong Sunrise. Great location if you’re doing the Laos border run to pick up the Mekong River Cruises of which there are sooo many. We used Nagi. We didn’t eat here, it was very quiet, guests were minimal.

We stayed at Fortune Riverview for just one night but very much enjoyed our stay. The staff were very helpful and spoke excellent English. They arranged us a transfer to the border the following morning that was cheaper than a tuktuk in town would have been. The room was probably one of the best we had in Thailand, clean, comfortable and spacious. The balcony had wonderful river views and we enjoyed our evening sat watching the river and Laos slowly descend into darkness. Breakfast was great, good options and decent coffee. My only ask would have been for some fried rice as well as boiled rice just to add a bit of variety. Otherwise well worth picking as your stay if you want to break your journey to/from Laos up!

This hotel was really very nice. The staff were charming and helpful, particularly the reception staff. We didn't use the pool which looked very pleasant. We did use the free bicycles to ride along the river cycle path and into town, they were not well maintained but did the job. The bed was comfortable, the shower great and we had a lovely balcony overlooking the river and enjoyed a good dinner and breakfast at the hotel on the patio overlooking the river. The staff kindly did us a vegetarian dinner which was much appreciated.

The room was very nice, with a nice view on the river and the staff were very nice. Before going to stay in this hotel I stayed in The heritage hotel in Chiang Rai, which was a real disappointment. It is rated as a 5 stars BUT IT IS NOT !!!!! and the reception were not friendly or helpful. So it was a real joy to have a very nice Hotel The fortune riverview and friendly staff. With my job I travel all the time all around the world so I know what I should get !@@!

The hotel is 10 mins from the bus stop a very easy walk. The bus trip was longer than expected. (9hrs instead of 6 due to breakdown). We arrived tired and had not eaten for most of the day. The welcome from the staff was exceptional. The food at the hotel is good. We had a lovely dinner on the terrace overlooking the Mekong. The breakfast the next morning was good too. They hired a taxi for us to get down to the border crossing the next day.
